Health treatments play a vital role in Ayurveda. Gastrointestinal Disorders belong to those diseases that affect the gastrointestinal tract. Eye disorders are well documented in the various Ayurveda texts written thousands of years ago. Eye disorders also find passing mention in the Shalakyatantra which deals with all disorders related to the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and diseases of the head and neck. However, in the well-known Ayurveda treatise called Shusurta Samhita, the anatomy and physiology of the eye and all eye disorders have been covered in detail. He has stated that the shape of the eyes is oblong and not perfect round. Furthermore, he has mentioned that the thickness of the eyeball is similar to the thickness of the thumb itself. Shusruta samhita has also mentioned that the eye has different layers, various junctions, the pupil, the lens, the eyelids, the eyelashes, etc. Shushruta samhita also mentions the clinical application of this anatomical background in the chapters dealing with the classification of eye disorders.

Respiratory disorders, also called lung diseases, are disorders that affect the human respiratory system. It affects almost all human beings at some point in their lives. Asthma, pneumonia, tuberculosis, lung cancer, etc. are some of the main respiratory diseases. Ayurveda classifies respiratory diseases into two main categories; Kasa (cough) and Swasa (difficulty breathing). Respiratory diseases in Ayurveda are considered to be the result of vitiated doshas. The skin is an organ of the senses. The senses of touch, pain, temperature, pressure are felt. The seven layers of the skin get their nutrition from muscle tissue. No amount of external skin care treatment, facial massage, or makeup application through the skill of an expert esthetician can hide the superficial appearance of unhealthy skin.
