Help with the holidays and temptations to eat

The holidays are once again upon us, which means fun, family, festivity, and most of all, partying. It seems that once Halloween rolls around, there’s a little green light that goes off, signaling the start of the holiday buffets. Our times are filled with family, friends and celebration. Just the mention of the word vacation can bring up visions of cookies, cakes, chocolate, and whatever other delicious food I’ve tried so hard to stay away from. It seems that once the holiday festivities begin, it’s a given that holiday cravings should accompany them. The good news is that there is a way to beat those Christmas cravings and still have a fun and happy holiday. It’s called EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques).

The best thing about EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is that it is a fabulous tool that you can take with you to every party, family gathering, social event, restaurant and any other festive event you have to attend. The best thing about EFT is that you know what you need to know but you, it’s your little secret. EFT can help you stop the urge to die cold. Keep in mind that you will want to use EFT to address the underlying reason for your food cravings, by doing this you can create a permanent change in your eating habits, giving you greater peace of mind. But for now, the main issue is what to do with the table overloaded with treats, calling your name, ready to pounce on your plate. You need help, now!

What should I do?

Start with your statement. Take a deep breath and begin to TAP. You can play right there on the table, facing the culprit, the table of delicious treats. Don’t let them ruin your night. State an affirmation and begin tapping.

“Even though I really want to eat this________, I love myself completely.”

“Even though I long for this________, I love myself completely.”

“Although the short-term pleasure of eating this________ appeals to me, I choose to meet my long-term needs and eat only foods that truly nourish my body.”

“Even though I want to ignore the guilt I already feel, I love myself completely.”

Feel free to say what you feel, it is your affirmation. Be sure to end your affirmation with a positive statement about yourself or how you choose to act or fall, even
if you still don’t fully believe it. Don’t be afraid to do several rounds of tapping if that’s what it takes. Once you’re done, take a deep breath and see how it feels. If you still have those cravings, play again. Be sure to pay attention to what you are thinking as well as how you are feeling. If you
It happens that new thoughts arise, tap on those thoughts and the feelings that accompany them. Play until he feels completely calm and can move away from the table.

Reward yourself!

You WON, now take the time to congratulate yourself. Do a few rounds of tapping on an affirmation that applauds you for your success. Whether you do it now or when you get home, make sure you do it. Resisting a craving is not always an easy thing to do. I know, I still fight temptation sometimes. It happens to all of us. If you don’t know what to say, imagine what your best friend or husband would say to you.

“Good job! I’m very pleased with myself.”

“I honor my strength and courage.”

“I am very grateful to myself for eating well and taking care of my body.”

“My body feels so good as a result of my healthy food choices.”

Any of these affirmations is excellent to congratulate yourself.

Remember that many of your food cravings have nothing to do with physical cravings and are emotionally based. Although many of us will be tempted, try to focus on the true meaning of the
Wait and you will quickly see that family and friends are at the center. Take advantage of this time with your loved ones, and to talk and be with those who matter to you. You
