How to Get Physically Fit and Break the Great American Diet, Part One!

How to Get Physically Fit and Break the Great American Diet is my first article in a belt-tightening series. Many books and articles have been written on this important subject. Since I’m a fitness and goal oriented guy, I’m going to jump on this one right up to my big brown eyes! My goal here is to start convincing my readers to start a safe and sensible food program. I don’t like the word “diet” so I use the term “eating program.” I’m not going to try to convince you to live on “rabbit food” for the rest of your life. However, you’ll find plenty of green vegetables in my Sensible Eating Plan, but prepared with a very tasty combination of tempting ingredients!

Let’s talk about fitness solutions and focus on positive ways to get back to a healthy weight. I propose a combination of exercise and my sensible eating plan that, when followed, will lead most people to slow but steady weight loss.

Stay away from high-fat fast foods, check the fat and carb levels on a burger and fries the next time you’re at one. It’s going to put on extra pounds and fast!

During my quest to maintain a healthy weight range, I discovered that I needed to select a plate that falls in the medium size range. I found myself eating less volume of food if the plate was around 9 inches in diameter. Another trick is to cut back on snacking between meals. This can be accomplished by two methods: First, don’t carry the snack pack into the living room, instead pour a modest amount into a smaller bowl or plate. Second, consider substituting a vegetable or fruit you like for the chips or cookies. It is essential that you reduce fats and carbohydrates, I will delve into this in my next article. This helped put me on the path to physical fitness.

These small changes will make a big difference in your overall food intake during the first three months of my food program. Be responsible, weigh yourself at home at the same time every three days, and then put it on your calendar. You have now taken the first steps towards fitness. Remember my message to you, “If you believe you will achieve it”.
