Breed Description

The Pug belongs to the group of mastiffs and toy dogs, which is the only breed in this group that likes children. Often described as a bunch of dogs in a small space, they weigh about 13 to 20 pounds and stand 12 to 14 inches tall at the shoulder.

Coat

The Pug is a fine-coated breed with a short, shiny coat. Soft to the touch, this breed’s coat is slightly broken and has a curly tail. They come in apricot, silver, fawn, or black, with a black mask.

Exercise

Although not generally active, the Pug is content to live anywhere with his master. But owners should keep in mind that while this breed doesn’t get much exercise, it’s important to encourage them to stay active. This breed can gain weight easily. Therefore, make sure that the Pug goes for a walk at least once a day, in 10 minutes or so. Make sure this breed is not over-exerted as they can easily lose their breath and start panting.
