Quick treatment for when your dog has diarrhea

Do you have that helpless feeling when your dog has diarrhea and everything you try to do doesn’t seem to improve it? Looking for a way to gently ease your dog’s diarrhea symptoms so you don’t have to rely on your vet for such a common ailment? Well, I have a solution for you!

Here I will show you the treatment I use when MY dog has diarrhea. It works in 24 hours and if you follow these steps, your dog will feel better quickly. Here we go …

1. Keep your dog hydrated: Give it water constantly. Diarrhea poses the risk of dehydration and that is the first thing to consider. One particular solution that I give my dog when he has diarrhea is a mixture of water, salt, and sugar. The combination locks in water in your system and keeps you hydrated and safe.

For a big glass of water. Add a teaspoon of salt. Add a tablespoon of sugar. Mix the solution. The water will look cloudy. Pour the solution into your dog’s water bowl and see if he drinks it. If he refuses, give him water regularly and monitor his drinking. You need to drink.

2. Clean diarrhea thoroughly: I know this part is pretty unpleasant, but it should be discussed. If your dog is having accidents around the house, you’ll want to clean up the mess with a good, strong bleach whenever possible. This not only removes dangerous bacteria from your home, it also removes the odor. Not only is the smell unpleasant to YOU, but it also triggered additional movements of your dog’s bowl. Cleaning it well will mitigate many of the accidents.

3. Fast your dog: You will want to fast your dog for 12-24 hours making sure his belly is empty. Continue giving him water. It is also a good idea to put some probiotic powder in the water. The idea here is to clean your system and remove the culprit bacteria that are causing your stomach problem.

4. Give a bland diet: Feed it 100% canned pumpkin (not pumpkin filling). There should be no added sugars to the mix. You will love the taste and pumpkin contains healthy fiber to regulate your system and further eliminate the cause of diarrhea. Your next meal should be something easy to digest, like boiled chicken and white rice.

5. Enter regular dog food: The next day, give him half the normal amount of dog food (maybe even less). Over the course of 3 days, gradually increase your diet to normal amounts.
