Visit Burton-on-Trent

Burton-on-Trent, also known as Burton or Burton upon Trent, is a town across the River Trent in eastern Staffordshire in England. Both the Trent Canal and the Mersey Canal and the River Trent meander majestically through the city. The city lies within the National Forest and is the largest city on the Forest and had a total population of approximately 43,784 as of the 2001 Census.

Burton-on-Trent is popular for its industrial brewing heritage and at its height was home to over a dozen breweries and this has made the town internationally recognized as Britain’s beer capital. Originally the town developed around Burton on the Trent Abbey, the most important religious center within medieval Staffordshire.

Burton-on-Trent is one of the major shopping centers and has three large shopping centers with a good mix of specialty shops and the country’s leading retailers.
