4 tips to deal with underarm sweat

Anyone who struggles with underarm sweat could feel frustrated and embarrassed, especially when mixing with people. Underarm sweat would stain shirts and could be quite annoying. People can also suffer when their occupations require building relationships with other people.

The 4 tips below are meant to help in situations where you don’t want to sweat to soak your shirt:

1) Deodorant and antiperspirant: Deodorants are little more than a perfume. Deodorants are not designed to decrease the level of perspiration your body system creates. They are meant to cover up the odor that can arise when sweat is created. Antiperspirant, on the other hand, is specifically designed to minimize the amount of sweat produced by sweat puffs, which are located under the skin of the armpits. Antiperspirants will work more effectively for some people than others. Also, some brands work better with some people than others.

2) Shirt Material: You can’t just prevent sweat from occurring. However, you can select the type of fabric to put on. Some types of material can absorb sweat better than others. Certain materials can induce more sweat by stopping the transfer of body heat or obstructing the evaporation of sweat. In addition, the color of the shirt influences sweat. Dark colors get darker when wet. Generally, white reveals the least.

3) Linings: For people who have never heard of them, linings are pieces of cloth or paper that we use to line a shirt on the inside. Its purpose is to absorb sweat, thus preventing sweat from penetrating through the shirt. The liners are normally locked in place by a sticky material that also allows them to be easily removed. Some liners can be used multiple times and can even be washed in the washing machine. On the other hand, others are not and must be discarded after use.

4) Toilet paper: Sometimes we find ourselves in circumstances that we did not expect. Such a phenomenon causes instant stress and often immediate sweating, which can be quite uncomfortable when it starts to show under your arms. First, realizing that you will be in such a scenario, go to the nearest toilet. Unroll a large amount of toilet paper and shoot it under your armpit. If you have tape, use it to keep the toilet paper in place. It is also a good idea to always carry an extra shirt in case something unforeseen happens.
