Kia Auto Parts at the forefront of Korea’s wave of auto boom

From humble beginnings as a bicycle manufacturer in Korea, Kia automobiles today prides itself on being one of the best automobile manufacturers in the world. It has achieved remarkable success as a manufacturer of high-quality, affordable automobiles. Also, Kia parts have proven their worth as a dependent player in the aftermarket for replacement and maintenance.

The Korean auto industry, like Korean automakers, has achieved unusual success, despite the fact that the industry has been caught between high-profile, high-priced Japan and newly emerging low-priced China.

Great prospects on the horizon for the Korean auto parts industry

Boom time is right around the corner for the likes of Kia parts. Nearly 70 percent of US buyers have indicated their willingness to increase their purchases of South Korean goods once the Korea-US free trade agreement takes effect. The free trade agreement, once ratified by the legislatures of both countries, will almost completely eliminate tariff barriers and offer protection to multinational financial sectors and firms such as Kia Parts. The key reason cited by US automakers is competitive parts prices and stringent quality requirements. Under the Free Trade Agreement signed in November 2010, the United States will immediately remove all tariff barriers on South Korean cars and gradually eliminate tariffs on South Korean cars. Kia’s parts manufacturers are optimistic that this deal is expected to significantly improve sales to the United States for years to come.

Why this direct line to the Korean industry?

To understand why the United States is targeting Korea directly, you first need to take a look at South Korea’s automotive and auto industry. The Korean auto industry is today the fifth largest in the world in terms of production and the sixth largest in terms of export volume. Almost every manufacturer, including Kia parts, is benefiting from this unprecedented growth.

Which is the reason?

We all know that Korean car products were once considered unreliable because they were mundane, cheap and lacking in quality, but not anymore. Although considered inferior in the past, Korea has now shed that second-rate image and caught up with the best manufacturing standards in the world. This was a big step forward for the Korean auto industry. As exports from manufacturers such as Kia cars increased, so did the volumes of auto parts. No wonder, because companies like Kia Parts quickly adapted to changing conditions in the auto industry. For example, Korean parts manufacturers realized the unique advantage of being in close interaction with automakers, which gave them lead time to be quick to update their products in terms of quality and innovation.

Kia now has a niche market in the United States. This confidence has been fueled not least by the popularity of the Rio, the more affordable four-door sedan to the well-accepted Sportage compact SUV. In addition, Kia has always made sure that safety is of the utmost importance, from design to manufacturing stage.
